Organizational Project Management Maturity (OPM3®)
What is OPM3®?
OPM3® is an organizational project management maturity model. There are four different maturity levels in this model: Standardization, Measurement, Control, and Continuous Improvement.
Standardization means consistent and uniform implementation of project management processes.
Measurement means designing metrics for your project management processes that fit your organization’s goals.
Control means that your organization has defined what stability is and has come up with a way to monitor stability throughout your projects.
Continuous Improvement means routine, systematic, and sustained improvement of processes.
You can use OPM3® in a way that benefits your organization. It is easy to focus on only the parts that are most relevant to you.

Services we offer:
o OPM3® Assessment (Options):
- Abridged: Our assessment will evaluate your organization from the portfolio, program, and project perspectives, as applicable. Additionally, we will assess the degree to which your organization is leveraging organizational enablers. We will base the assessment on a limited review of your project archives, data from your project management information system, and your staff’s responses to our questionnaire.
- Comprehensive: In addition to what we provide with the abridged option, we will also produce a road map showing how to move to higher levels of maturity. We will look at a larger sample from your project archives, a larger data set from your project management information system, and conduct live interviews with your staff.
- Tailored Assessment: We will focus only on certain organizational areas or aspects of project management of greatest concern to the organization.
o Implementation Support (Options):
- Guide: We will serve as a subject matter expert and mentor as your organization embarks on an initiative to move to a higher level of maturity.
- Project Management: We will serve as the project leader to lead and manage the project management maturity initiative.
- Staff Augmentation: We will augment your staff with individuals who can assist in carrying out the work of implementing a project management maturity initiative.
o Training: We will provide generic and/or tailored training to support the project management maturity initiative, as desired.
